Forest management is an important alternative strategy for conserving the biodiversity,and for allowing both forest dwellers and larger stakeholders to benefit from the forest. In manySoutheast Asian countries, most of the forests belong to the state, and forest management isextremely centralized, even though, national policies do not favour forest management. In thisbook, an endeavor has been made to analyze the inter-linkage between the management andfortification of forest resources and protection of endogenous right of people in India withspecial reference to Nambor reserve forest of Assam.
